Not all diamonds are forever. Especially here at Jökulsárlón. This beach and another nearby have been nicknamed Diamond Beach for the simple reason that they tend to catch pieces of the Vatnajökull glacier that break off and float toward the sea. These pieces of ancient ice are polished in the glacial meltwater bay. This can make them glimmer in the light like diamonds. This past weekend we spent some relaxing family time in the Pisgah National Forest. These woods of over half a million acres contain hundreds of waterfalls, whitewater rivers, and miles of hiking trails. The scenery here is really has its own amazing Appalachian aesthetic. Most of these images are straight out of the camera from a Fujifilm X-T30 with an inexpensive 27mm pancake prime lens. I’m loving this light little setup as a travel camera. #fujifilmxt30 #pisgah #smokymountains
